Malayalam Poem - Praave Praave Pokaruthe

This song is quite popular, having been featured in the favorite Manjadi series of edutainment CDs. It recites the efforts of a little child to woo a pigeon to come over. The child finds reasons for the pigeon to return to its cage, while the pigeon values its freedom and wants to fly away. My little girl loves it, and me too.

Try purchasing a Manjadi CD 2 to enjoy the song better... it has been beautifully presented there.

Praave Praave Pokaruthe by Ulloor S. Parameswara Iyer

Praave Praave Pokaruthe
Va Va Koottinakathaakkaam
Paalum Pazhavum Porenkil
Chorum Kariyum Njaan Nalkaam

Kollaam Kunje Ninnishtam
Thallaan Paadillennaalum
Njaan Angottekkillippol
Maanam Nokki Pokunnu

Ayyo Praave Pokaruthe
Payyum Daahavumundaame
Venal Kaalathuchakkyo
Maanam Nokki Sanchaaram

Enthinu Kunje Pedyinee
Eeshan Nalkiya Chirakille
Venumnedam Pokatte
Kaanum Vastu Bhujickatte

Praantha Praave Pokaruthe
Pakshe Vazhi Thettipome
Kuttinnaaru Ninakkuloo
Koottil Chennal Sukhamalle

Praantha Kunje Sarveshan
Paavangalkkoru Thunayille
Aa Vrikshakombbinudaveed -
Aaya Ninathuvan Ara Njodiyil !

Please do let me know if the wordings are incorrect. I'm not very certain about the last stanza. This is how my little girl sings it!
